Key features of a diving mask

plonge
  • Waterproof seal
  • Field of view
  • Resistance to salt or chlorine in water
  • Resistance to pressure
  • Optical correction (distance vision and/or near vision)
  • Type of diving

Leak-testing a diving mask:

Place the mask on your face. Breathe deeply to keep it in place, hold your breath, and then let go of the mask. If it stays in place, there is no leak.
The hazards of the underwater environment (sea salt, moisture, UV, etc.) oblige us to protect equipment with covers and hard cases. This is essential to ensure the longevity of your equipment.

Some useful tips

Scuba diving:

We recommend a translucent seal and bezel to admit more light and enlarge the peripheral field of view.

Free diving and underwater hunting:

“Low volume” masks avoid wasting air when compensating for pressure during depth changes. Black silicone seals attenuate unwanted reflections from the sun on water’s surface.

Lenses:
  • Corrective lenses (for myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism or presbyopia) can be fitted to our line of diving masks.
  • They are mineral-coated to protect their optical quality and help prevent scratches. They are a minimum of 3 millimetres thick in order to optimise their impact resistance. A two-lens mask will provide better optical performance.
