// Why a scuba mask?
A few good tips :
There are masks specifically adapted to the practice of different types of diving (freediving, hunting, underwater photography and video …).
Tank diving :
Prefer a translucent membrane and mask band to increase brightness and peripheral visual field.
Free diving and spearfishing :
The “small volume” masks avoid wasting air when compensating for depth-related pressure. The black silicone parts reduce the parasitic reflections of the sun on the surface of the water.
Glasses :
- Correctors (for myopic, hyperopic, astigmatic or presbyopic) can be adapted on our different diving masks.
- The mineral tempered lenses maintain a long-lasting optical quality and limit the risk of early scratches. They are at least 3 millimetres thick in order to optimise their resistance to shocks.
Underwater environments (sea salt, humidity, UV rays, etc.) make it necessary to protect the equipment with covers and rigid cases. This is a prerequisite to guarantee the longevity of the equipment.
PRO-TIP
How to check the tightness of a mask?
Put it on your face, take a deep breath to hold it in place, hold your breath, let go of the mask. If it holds, it’s tight.
TIP
A binocular mask will provide better optical performance.
// Why swimming goggles
The choice of swimming goggles is very important. Swimming goggles have a dual purpose: not only do they help you see well underwater, but they also protect your eyes from salt or chlorinated water, while keeping them free of bacteria when swimming in a lake or the sea.
A few useful tips:
The entire frame should rest tightly on the face to prevent water from penetrating even with vigorous movements.
Translucent lenses allow you to see very well underwater.
PRO-TIP
For optimal comfort, opt for a silicone insulation material (more skin-friendly) and an adjustable elastic band.
TIP
In a natural environment, in order to avoid the risk of sun glare, opt for tinted lenses. The orange or blue colour will have a soothing effect. In case of very strong light, smoked, black or navy blue lenses are very comfortable.
